What is FedLoan? Well, it is a student loan service provider that handles federal student loan applications and repayments in partnership with the Ministry of Education. It is a law firm providing loans to 7 million students, including TEACH-funded borrowers.

If you are allocated to FedLoan as a student loan servicer, the company is in charge of providing your assistance with invoices, repayment plans, loan consolidation and more. You do not have to pay for these services.

What Is FedLoan Service?

FedLoan is a student loan service provider, one of the firms signed with the United States Department of Education to process student loan applications and payments. It is one of 11 student loan service providers that manage federal student loan accounts.

FedLoan allocates approximately 10% of student loan accounts. 2020. As of June 2020, it has provided services to over 7 million borrower accounts for a total loan amount of approximately $ 375.8 billion.

FedLoan is a federal government student loan service provider used by the government for the public service loan forgiveness program and a TEACH grant program service provider to reward those who learn to become teachers in low-income or high-demand areas.

What Can FedLoan Servicing Help You With?

FedLoan Servicing can assist you with everything having to do with paying your student loan.

Access to your account –You can handle payments online, update your account information, get tax returns, and view invoices and statements.

Repaying your student loans – You can put up direct debits, sign up for income-oriented refunds, change payment settings, move due dates and prepayments.

Applying for financial hardship programs – You can request forgiveness and deferral, and federal loan merging and reduced payments.

Loan forgiveness – You can check if you are eligible for loan cancellation, PSLF, teacher loan forgiveness, and any advantages for service members. You can also submit the PSLF form online to track progress and submit.

If FedLoan doesn’t count your qualifying payment during auto forbearance

According to the Coronavirus Assistance Act, you will be counted as a qualified public service loan exemption every month during the 6-month automatic grace period. In June 2020, some clients stated that their payments were not revealed in PSLF’s eligible payment trackers. The manager is informed of the problem and is working to resolve it.

Am I stuck with FedLoan until my loans are paid off?

Loans can be transferred from one service staff to another by the Ministry of Education.

The education ministry plans to eventually take over all lending services by signing new service agreements with five firms, thereby changing the outlook for student lending services. This means that the loan service provider may change. FedLoan Servicing will continue to provide lending services until December 2021.

When this happens, you will be told, and your new service provider will process your payment. Except for public service loan exemptions, all service providers offer the same choices and procedures, but customer service may vary from each other.

Currently, you will continue to use FedLoan unless you follow the steps to change the service representative. Use this tool to find a method that suits you.

Do I Need A Student Loan Servicer?

All student loan borrowers will be assigned a student loan service provider to manage their accounts and billing and repayment methods. It is a non-compulsory part of the student loan procedure.

Once the service is assigned to your account, the service personnel will notify you. If you have any questions about the operator you are using, detailed information will be posted on the National Student Loan Data System. To find this information:

  • Visit the National Student Loan Data System website.
  • Select Financial Assistance Review and accept the terms of use when prompted.
  • View information to find a loan service provider.
  • Log in to your account with Federal Student Aid (FSA) I.D. If you do not already have an account, you can make one.

How to Get in Touch With FedLoan?

If you need to contact FedLoan for student loans, refunds, or other billing issues, there are several ways to do this.

Use FedLoan at https://myfedloan.org/borrowers to create an online account. You can use this account to check the status of loans and bills and send secure emails to FedLoan.

How to complain about FedLoan?

If you cannot resolve your FedLoan issue, please file a complaint directly with the Pennsylvania Department of Higher Education Support Consumer Protection Office. Fed Loan’s premier customer service office. Call 1-800-213-9827 or send an email to:

  • Your state consumer protection office.
  • Your state attorney general’s office.
  • Federal Student Aid Feedback System.
  • Your congressional representative.

Assure that you keep a record of the conversation, such as the day of the week, the time of the discussion, and the customer service representative. Keep a copy of your account letter, invoice or email.

How to settle a dispute with Fed Loan?

If your complaint does not help, you can make contact with the Federal Student Assistance Ombudsman Panel.
